Since we are on the topic of introductions today, we are eager to announce that we have a new colleague here at Gecko Trail! We wish a warm welcome to Toni, who has joined our team of Travel Experts to help customize unforgettable vacations.

Toni recently had the pleasure of experiencing one of our most popular combination tours, the Cahuita Boat, Snorkel and Hike trip.

This exciting tour begins with a boat ride to the crystal clear waters at Cahuita National Park. Here you will snorkel at two different points along the coral reefs that comprise part of the largest reef system in Costa Rica. It is possible to see a plethora of tropical fish, manta rays, and perhaps even a reef shark in this area. After snorkeling, you will take a break at the stunning Cahuita Point and enjoy a snack of tropical fruits. Finally, you will embark on a guided hike through the pristine national park. Here you can see monkeys, sloths, snakes, crabs, birds, and much more!

We asked Toni for an insider view on the tour. Here is what he had to say:

What was your favorite part of the tour?

Toni: When we stopped at Cahuita Point there was a manta ray in the flat water. I was very impressive to see this beautiful creature so close. Also our guide showed us a bright yellow eyelash viper who was out on a tree. Very cool.

What was the most surprising part of the tour?

Toni: To see so many fishes in all colors and sizes and a healthy reef

Do you have any tips to offer clients who do this tour?

Toni: If you need glasses for seeing, you should wear contact lenses during the tour because the mask doesn’t work when you leave your glasses on. This happened to a young man who was not aware that the mask wouldn’t work when he leaves his glasses on.

The Cahuita Boat, Snorkel, Hike trip is just one of the many tours and topics which we are excited to highlight on our new blog. Stay tuned for an insider look at Costa Rica from the new Gecko Trail Blog!

Thank you for stopping by! Pura Vida!
