The Santa Rosa National Park is the most important monuments in the dry forest of freedom after independence. “La Casona” is where in 1856 the Costa Rican army beat a group of filibusters that tried to conquer the whole central American territory.
Explore the Dry Forest & City
You will also have the chance to walk thru the dry forest that contains 2% of the worldwide biodiversity. At one of the trails, you can see monkeys, birds, deer and many other animals. After the hike we’ll make our way to Liberia City, where you can still walk around the center of Liberia and have a glimpse of what was the white city.
La Ciudad Blanca
Historically, Liberia has been called “La Ciudad Blanca.” With white adobe houses, white dirt roads and people dressed in white (because of the extreme heat), it’s easy to see why. You will have the opportunity to buy some souvenirs throughout the tour while you view historic places.
