Rio Tenorio – Adventure Connection

Book It

You’ll love this Rio Tenorio connection from La Fortuna/Monteverde!

Take a scenic drive along the breathtaking road of Lake Arenal while admiring the majestic Arenal Volcano. You'll arrive at the rustic Guanacaste back roads. There, you will board a rugged 4x4 ride to the river put-in at the bridge over the Río Tenorio.

From Pacific Beaches

You’ll arrive at our meeting point along the Pan-American highway prior to heading to the river put-in. The put-in is approximately 20 minutes away.

You’ll receive a thorough safety briefing and get fitted for your equipment -- helmets, lifejackets and paddles. Practice with your guide before embarking on a beautiful 2.5-hour rafting trip along the arid and impressive canyon of the Tenorio River. You’ll truly experience Costa Rica’s picturesque Guanacaste province.

Take to the Rapids

During the tour, you will have the opportunity to raft over 20 exciting rapids! Don’t forget to watch for a variety of wildlife along the way, such as iguanas, tropical birds and monkeys.

You will then be provided a fruit snack before hiking to a local waterfall that features a thrilling 10-foot drop!

When you arrive to the private Desafío river exit, there is a quick hike to the 4x4 vehicle. Then, we’ll drive you out of this isolated, unspoiled region of Costa Rica. Lastly, enjoy a delicious lunch, use our changing rooms, and then head on your way to your next destination.
