Manatees Tour in Panama |
|
At the San San Wetlands in Panama it is almost guarantied to see those great aquatic mammals. We will cross the border at Sixaola, and at the San San River we will take a boat for about 40 minutes to reach to the observation platform. A local conservation organization that protects these giant gentle creatures sometimes feed them here. That is why you will have a 95% chance to observe them.
You also will see several species of birds, and sloths. Perhaps even a cayman or a crocodile. Along the road you will see cattle farms and banana plantations. The border between Costa Rica and Panama is the Sixaola River, we will cross on an old railroad bridge. You will have to bring your passport and get a stamp on each side. Upon re-entering Costa Rica, Costa Rican customs may want to see a copy of your onward international plane or bus ticket to be sure you're a tourist.
Ground transportation is via public bus; your guide will accompany you and purchase your tickets which are included in the price of your tour. If you would prefer private transport, please write us and we will advise the price
